Ok a few folks have emailed me on teardrop trailers, since I opened my big mouth and said I was into tears for several years... Well this is true, and I am not a expert on them I have done a lot of research on them, been on several discussion boards, email lists for them.
They were a small trailer designed in the late 30's and 40's to be pulled by cars of that time. There was a maker of parts and complete units, named Kit Manufacturing. Several others came and went, but there is a revision of these neat campers. They have some small enough to be pulled by a motorcycle to those needing a full size truck to pull them.
Most were designed with a 4' x 8' building layout to use common lumber. Most of them are in the 600-900 lb weight range, so they could be pulled by some of our cars.
I wanted to build one and tow behind my VW's to car shows... That way I could take a nap if I wanted too. :P
I have a set of plans I made based on a Benroy design, which is a more rounded back end than the standard Teardrop. If any one wants a copt of the file, I have in dwg, dwx or several other cad type file formats.
Ok here are some links that I checked to see if they were still good. Several have plans, and lots of links, one on a webring.... so have fun.
