The CVA’s 19th Annual Spring Dust-off, Mansfield Hollow State Park, Mansfield, CT from 9am to 3pm. Held rain or shine. This is an informal, non-judged car show. Dash Plaques to the first 200 cars. Last year we had almost 250 cars, so arrive early. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the cars and your fellow VW comrades! No alcohol or burnouts! that event may or may not happen. after 19 years they were suddenly told last week that they have to pull an insurance policy. no time to do it, so the show if it happens may be at risk of being tossed out of the park. havent heard any updates yet

Cindy's car is staying put...she doesn;t want to drive..:hmm:..the rat is up in the air,maybe Ray will run it up with me and Cindy, and the chassis car will be towed to a certain spot then driven...at $11 a gallon it ain't gonna happen to drive it there...

the convoy is leaving from my shop when I feel everything is ready as far as others they will have to work out their own times and such.thing are kinda still up in the air..we'll be working till the weeee hours the day before so I'm not gonna head up til noon ish.

Sunday July 12th, 2009 - The CVA’s 5th Annual New England Volks-Meet, Lebanon Lions Fairgrounds, Lebanon, CT from 9am to 3pm Sunday. Trophies will be awarded by people’s choice in many different classes. Show will be open to all Volkswagens and all German cars, owners and fans. Will be held rain or shine. There will be dash plaques and goody bags to the first 200 cars and camping is available on Saturday night and we will have live bands. There will be entertainment for the kids both days. I might have a line on a set from Battle Bug. But, if someone here has a set & they are willing to take them along, I'll snag them up from you at the show. That way Battle won't have to drag his along to Mike meet & hand them off to Turbo... Oops, I didn't ask/tell Turbo to expect Battle to be giving him drums for me... :panic:

I was just looking at videos of the Boulder Dash coaster at Lake Compounce and realized how close that is to Litchfield and Terryville. I've got to ride that coaster!!. I'm thinking I might have to try to combine a trip to one of the shows and a visit to the park for a few rides on what I've heard is a bad ass woodie coaster since it opened.

Any of you new England guys have any comments on Lake Compounce since I'd probably be bringing the family?? Looks like it's a nice family park, but I have no idea what kind of crowds or element hangs out there.
