Warwagens Car Club will be hosting their second annual Simple Transport VW/Bicycle Show


Warwagens Air-Cooled VW Car Club Presents- Simple Transport II

What: German Air-cooled automobile and custom/classic/vintage BMX bicycle show. Swap meet

Where: Hagerstown,MD Fairgrounds Park

When: Saturday August 22, 2009 8am-3pm

Entry Fees: $10 per vehicle (including driver)
Free entry for pre-68 buses!
$3 per bicycle
$2 - Spectators
Kids 12 and under FREE
$25 - Swap space

2009 marks our second annual show being held at the Hagerstown Fairgrounds Park, a great venue with plenty of space, and shade. The show is open to any German Air-Cooled vehicle including, Beetles, Buses, Ghias, Type 3, Dune Buggies, Kit Cars, VW based coachbuilts, Porsche, BMW motorcycles etc. In addition we will be holding a custom and classic bicycle show as well. Bikes from ANY year and style are encouraged.

This year's show will be featuring Split Window buses with FREE entry for any 1967 and earlier bus including driver.

This show is targeted towards the avid Air-Cooled VW enthusiast and participants are encouraged to DRIVE to the event. The atmosphere will be laid back family oriented and will be fun for everyone. We will have concessions, restrooms, and plenty of extras as well. Awards will be participant judged and awarded to top 22 entries, additional awards will be presented to Promoters choice, and special interest, long distance, etc.

Raffle tickets available to entries and spectators for VW prizes

Tattoo Contest, Miss Simple Transport Contest

New this year: Pinewood derby races, Live Music

We are using this show as a fund-raiser for the Hagerstown BMX track located in the park. We will have an Open House at the track during the show as well (long sleeves, long pants required)

Here is my Pine wood Oval for the adult unlimited class.

Kids class will follow Boy scouts of america rules.

Adult unlimited class will follow same weight and use of stock wheels with unlimited modifications.

So dust off the old cars in your closet or go to your nearest hobby store and start on your new one and get ready for the FUN!!!

HEY ANYBODY THAT CAN GET TO THIS SHOW... PLEASE DO SO! IT IS IN A VERY FAMILY FRIENDLY PARK WITH BALL FIELDS AND PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT. on saturday nights there is a huge (300-400 cars) all makes cruise in at the mall.

Brian is a great guy to run this show and we need to show our support. Hell if you need a spot to crash, my yard is available to camp (house is really small) and i am only like maybe 2 miles away from the fairgrounds.

The main rave I heard last year were the shade from the stables.:smilespin:

Also the augustoberfest is the same weekend a couple blocks away.So we try to get everything wrapped up by 3-4pm so everyone can enjoy themselves.:wink:

This is also a classic/custom bike show .So lets see what ya got. Ryan, I know you've got some crazy creations .Hope to see them there.

Also this is to benifit our Bmx track ,Hagerston bmx.Track will be open to ride.Just remember to bring a helmet(we have a few loaners but they go fast),long pants & shirt.Oh, and a bike. :wink:

That's a pretty easy trip. I might be able to talk a couple of volksrodders into going. Maybe I'll break out the Huffy "Wheel" I have just for shits and giggles. Have to see what else is going on that weekend.

Thanks for the comment. I do like my '56, I just gotta make some changes to it and get it ready for next spring.

As for the show, there isn't anything going on up here in PA so we'll probably go for a ride down to check things out. The Wheel needs to be cleaned up a bit, I just found it at a second hand shop a little over a year ago but it's got all it's all original with a couple minor alterations the previous owner made. I like it better than my Schwinn's though, it's pretty cool.
