I'm still being held up, literally, by a brake caliper. It is currently soaking and I hope that the pistons will finally break loose so that I can rebuild it. Oigh!

Well, I lost the "I'll just rebuild it" battle. So, after a couple failed attemps, I'm back to trying to find this RF caliper. It is a two year only part for the type 3. Grr!

Can you weld a rod to the stuck piston and work it from there?

I have the brakes finished. Now, it is a daily driver... after... I rebuild the front end, the rear end, fix the shift linkage and replace the windshield rubber.

I myself have always wanted a square back to make into a truck

You don't need window rubbers to drive it daily, well unless it leaks really bad, if so just don't drive it in the rain
