034 distributor set up
Just fit an 034 and timed it to 32° at 3500rmp with vacuum pipe blocked off. After attaching vacuum pipe there is no further advance from 32° and I still have a horrible flat spot so unable to drive. I can see the vacuum seems to be in a different position to others and no1 is straight back to the fan when lining with the notch. What am I doing wrong? Pictures show position and vacuum hook up.

Re: 034 distributor set up
It’s been a really long time since I’ve worked on a VW flat four. So I don’t want to lead you in the wrong direction. I checked out a site www.aircooledvwlove.com that might help you out. I hope this helps.

After several hours of adjusting mixture, squirt and timing, this is where it's at.

I’ve been running Safaris’ on my single cab for several years now. And added a unit to the rear cab window two summers ago. They are great in traffic and really ‘cool’ on hot days. 😃😃

Looks slick! Besides being practical, a mod like that really makes your ride stand out.
