Newbie in Indiana - Cut-Weld-Drive Forums

Hey I'm new from southern Indiana. I got my first Vw a short while ago. I have always been into vehicles an modifying them. I'm 19 an I've had 30 vehicles. I enjoys trading around. This 65 beetle being my number 30 it's kinda special to me. But anyways I got my 65 as a Baja. With intentions of switching it to a standard style. I've decided to go with a fender less volksrod style. The pans and everything were in very good shape. I'll attach a few pics of my project I hope to get some good advice an guidance from you all on here. Thanks

Figured I'd through a short up date up on my project. I got me some wheels out front 14-6 n out back 15-8 polished torque thrust (sbc wheel adapters) got some old tractor bullet style headlights n hopefully picking up my adjustable front beam this weekend.

a few pics of the project. got the floor pan undercoated got my deck lid mounted although i picked up a different lid for it yesterday. got my hood mounted.

i also got a rear clip for it and got it tacked on yesterday. now just waiting on my front clip to get here. hopefully i have a guy coming today to trade me some solid glass doors. coming together alright for my first vw. headlights are off of a old massey fergison combine. they have to old tear drop shape.

Well it has been awhile since I have updated my intro/build thread. I picked up a set of solid glass doors, a better rear decklid off of a 63, and got my front clip welded on. I also picked up a 1600 DP for basically free after I sold the parts that came with it

. The car seems to take 2 steps forward and 4 steps backward, story of a build huh? I drove the car last weekend and it now sits with the motor (stock 1200) sold, the rear clip back off and the decklid off, and the front beam droped out. Since hearing that im goin to have to find a new job very soon, I have moved to the paching and body work and the motor build on hold.

I got the front fender wells shaved and patched. I also the the antenna hole and the holes in the wall behind the frame horn fixed. O and I also got my headlights mounted, I borrowed the idea from the famous bulldog build. I will try and get some pics later tonight.

Here is a pic of my home-made engine stand. Worked very well. Also a pic of my mustang and front beam out of the bug, and a couple pics of how the bug sits now.
