Default Old Volksrod projects

Spencer
I was looking at some old builds and the though came to me where have all these builds gone? are they sitting some where waiting to see the road again? Man if the right one came along I would grab it up! Finish it and pass along the joy of a Volksrod. I spent a long weekend at the Goodguys show in Washington explaining yes it started as a VW and we call them “volksrods”….So any old project for sale out there?

I have wanted to "bump" a few back up to the front, to see if it might get someone started again, but some of the guys seem to not even log on anymore.

Plus, I figure life sometimes takes a turn that none of us expect, and maybe they will come back to it when they can.

I agree. There were a few that I really wanted to see the finish (not that they are ever done) but at least the finish enough where they are doing what you are doing and driving them around.

I love that chop and I will most likely work my bug body over to have that roof line. LOVE IT!

With some planning, you could use a 'Vert' rear window.
They are Safety Glass, so they can be cut.

The curve is slightly tighter than a regular rear window,
so they are not a direct fit in a stock-ish bug.

I guess I could call mine an old project... I drive it practically everyday now (when it isn't raining or snowing). I still have some plans to change it. New interior, finish the body work, new top-same material just a better job and better snaps. And a heck of a lot of detail work. I will have to upload the latest picks but they are on my laptop.
I will probably wait until my site support membership comes through!

I suppose I can start to call my V-Rod (my daily driver) an old project now

It will be 2 years since I got it this October 15th (give or take a few days), took me 5 months to get it road worthy, been driving it & getting all the rough work done to it, like welding the front sheet metal back on from where the PO had cut it off (to anyone cutting the front or rear aprons off, keep them, you may wanna put most of the front apron back on so the hood closes up to keep the air from coming inside & thru all the dash holes and or the vent holes, that is IF you drive it during the winters like I do

Anyhow what I'm getting at is, this January I plan to start cutting it up so it looks more like I want it to, during this time I'm a need another daily driver, so what to do,

I'm gonna dig out the floor pan from my 66 Bug, fix & reinforce everything so I can put the BitchN Bug body back on, I'll use the front suspension from the V-Rod, as well as the engine & get it road worthy to drive till I get the V-Rod cut up & put back together like a jigsaw puzzle, minus several pieces of course

Guess I best get going or I'll be driving the V-Rod for another year or two, plus if I get the 66 pan out of my garage I'll have room to clean & organize the inside so I have room to work without stepping over piles of stuff, which can be dangerous depending on what I'm doing
