My newest find, a 12v external semaphore! Has "SCHLEDVM" written on the external casing. Anyone has any idea what cars these came from?? They're going on my rod, deciding if I should make it external mounted or internal Not bad for $65 shipped from UK

There's a few holes in the back that screws into the body directly or sometimes on a bar coming out from the body. Not sure if externally mounting them would look right on my rod, I'll decide when the time comes.

Picts of external semaphores. I do have NOW SWF external semaphores for my Kubel too

i wonder why nobody has come up with a good kubel kit? it looks bone simple. the only one i've ever seen was the one that skunkworks put out and i heard it was overpriced crap. it looks like if you had access to a sheetmetal brake and a bead roller you could build one in about 2 days.
oh shit........i feel another project coming on

There's 2 kits I think, and one of the company has an option for all metal instead of 'glass. And one of them (maybe the same one) isn't an exact replica, some things changed for ease of built or safety reasons. Pretty much most parts on the Kubel is available as a repro but pretty much all handmade so sometimes $$$$. The only thing that I know that isn't repro'd is the main body structure itself.

The July VWTrends has a cool feature on a guy that made a Schwimmwagen knock-off using a '70 Type-181 (European Thing). It actually looks more like a Kubel than a Schwimmer'. If I only had more tie and money...
