Re: Looking at Vans
well great news ,
I found some history from the owner on this van .
It was a Radical show van back in the day . Although he was not the original owner he did have a photo of it when it was in it's Prime , it was sold and the next guy wanted to take it to the next level and make it more radical and couldn't finnish it , he was trying to make the front doors flip up .And tilt the hood .
Looks like i'll be needing some good parts Vans ..LOL

Re: Looking at Vans
Supervan was one shitty movie, but oh so good. Charles Bukowski as the drunken waterboy for the wet t-shirt contest is classic! Too bad Netflix doesn't have it.

Re: Looking at Vans
That chop looks like the old yosemite sam van. You might have a real piece of history there. I would try to trace it's history.Do you have any pics of the side and rear?

I just watched the youtube clip and was LMAO, it brought back alot of memories of going to "Van Ins" in the 70's and partying. I gotta find that flick.

Sorry Whozawhat , i dumped the photos when i thought the thread was dead .
Yes i bought the chop van from Canada . It was a bitch getting it home but it's in NJ now . It has a little history but not as much as Yosemite Sam's .
It was featured in a 90's trucking TV show and it's name at the time was Buzz Saw . Originaly i was told it was called Buzzcut. And i had no idea it was a feature van .
The owner sold the Van to another guy who wanted to make it more radical , took it apart and attempted body mods he was not able to complete . So the Van sat out side rusting away .
I'm in the process of gathering parts now and i'll get started when i finish the 61 vw and the bike .
There are a bunch a die hard vanners who want to see this tone back on the road again , i'm going to give it my best shot .
The first pic is the Van today , the others are from the TV Show .
Thanks for your interest and enjoy the pics

Re: Looking at Vans
Is that a Chevy or a Dodge? Cool find.
Joe, do you remember an angle chopped flat windshield Chevy with an airbrushed surfing mural on it? It was in the NJ shore area, early 80's.

Re: Looking at Vans
I have been lookign at econolines but nobody wants to trade for them either. ohwell. The super van was on either car crazy or some other show recently and they actually drove it. But i would hate to drive it on a normal basis due to being real cramped in the cockpit area.

Re: Looking at Vans
Super Van was on "chop, cut rebuild". They said they hate driving it because there is no windows that open.

for a while there were two econolines up for trade on the samba...i debated long and hard on trading my 58 for one of them...but decided against it.
straight jersey too, 2" blocks on the rear with kragger ralley 10" wide wheels...absolute thing of beauty
