If you want to keep it then once you agree on a price minus your deductable you can retain salvage at a price out here it was most comonly 10 percent or less kind of depended on if it was in a shop gathering storage fees and such,
Any reciepts you have for service, parts, accessories etc. get added to improve the value of the jeep, Market value is what your after so show any and all listings you can find for your area showing what they're selling for!! Blue book dosent mean squat at this point unless it's seriously to their advantage!

If you get a check and are still trying to settle thing or negotiate a proper settlement etc.. Do Not Cash it as that is automatic acceptance of their terms!!
Do your homework before you settle, even thought many will tell you, it's the best our gonna get, blah blah blah .. be sure that whatever you get is compareable to market value!
Remember they're going to have to pay for pick up, and all the associated fees then it goes to auction where they get whatever they get, they write it all as a loss at tax time even though you've been paying for that coverage all this time..
I ran a collision center for roughly 8 years and am an accredited automotive manager, but I only know our local laws so do some homework..

i had a bad one so the 5 inch cut is what i got. not fun to heal up from that. i did lose some weight cause i was scared to eat cause i knew it would need to leave me soon and that was not fun either. be sure to get your "sneeze/cough" pillow

maybe an oven set at 100 degrees for a couple minutes to soften them up.? Works for the rub rail on my boats.

LOL.... You'll NEVER guess where I was!!! I was at the "ROC" for fracture training. (Tim will get this but not to many people here). I mowed over a "no parking" sign. I guess that was the thud I heard....

Hell no I didn't grab the sign. You know how many cameras are on that building!! I'm just lucky I got out of there before the security guy watching the monitor got off his ass (you know how slow those Goverment people are

Add one more thing to this week. The young girl in texas we went to see during hillbilly meet that received transplants 2 months ago has decided that it was her time to go. She has been putting up a great fight for the past 2 months dealing with all the issues she hs had. She refused all treatments and antibiotics and dialysis. I am sure she will be missed by her whole family and ours when the time comes. So keep her in your thoughts. This week needs to fucking end on a high note somehow but i doubt that will fucking happen. To much to much.

giving up a dog apparently can get alot worse. i've just spent the last hour trying to console 6 and 3 year old girls. they don't understand, the 6 year old hasn't stopped wailing and is angry with us. it's gonna be a long night.

Well it started yesterday when my wife calls .The Uncle in north Dakota she just stayed with for her grandmother's funeral last week dropped dead goose hunting, and the Audi had to be towed to the dealership. All I can see are $$$$$. Then last night on the way to taking our daughter to see the twilight movie, my W8 starts vibrating like hell, so I make my wife pull over. Yup, front tire flat, but there's noway I can change the tire where we were with al lthe traffic, so we pull off the exit and pull in a gas station. I start airing up the tire to listen for a leak when all of a sudden it sounds like squirrels fighting INSIDE of the tire. WTF???. I get the car more into the light and HOLY SHIT, the inside sidewall has two bubbles the side of my foot and there's what looks like a 16p nail in the tire.. WHERE the HELL does my wife drive?

That's two tires she has ruined on my W8 driving on a flat and three on her Audi in the last year. I asked her point blank if she was fuckin a construction worker or something to be constantly getting nails in her tires. I've had one flat in 25 years and that was from running over a box of utility knife blades. So the sidewall belts are totally blown, no hope for that tire.

Fast forward to this morning. Tire has to be "inspected t o make sure it can't be repaired". I'm like "lady, this tire has two bubbles the size of my size 11 foot in the sidewall". So I take it to 3 different goodyear retailers before I could get one to even talk to the Tire Rack people. Nice customer service..... on both sides. Does EVERY warranty company try to weasel out of a claim they are clearly responsible for? So I end up an an NTB and he says sure I'll take care of it no problem. Of course, by the time they settle that, the last 4 tires they have like the one I need just drove out the door. So the search is on. Gonna be at least 4 hours to get another one.

So while I'm there, might as well check out the tires on my other wagon since I know it needs tires. WTF do you know? Cords showing on the inside shoulder.

Of course, the only tires they have in my size are $280 EACH! uhhh.

I don't have THAT kind of coin right now.

So I get to thinking, wait a minute, I've got 4 17" eagle VR's in the garage that should work. No problemo. I stop by my buddy's garage around the corner on the way home and he has the time to mount the tires before our wrestlin' meet. This is all before 10:00 am and I've been to the other side of hte county and back already. So I take everything over there, then go help another friend I promised to help pull his boat for the season, and then I should have no problem getting to the meet.

SO I get back to the station, car's sitting outside, tires mounted, looks good. They are a bit bigger 245's but so what. So I walk in and he says, We've got a problem. He mounted them all before checking to see if they fit. Of course not, they rub. Well, not really rub. More like they need about a 1/4 inch to safely clear the front spindles on that wonderfully overcomplicated supension on the Passat. Hmmm, I could use spacers. Wrong NGP is closed already, no spacers till monday. . Oh, and your inner tie rod ends and the upper rear suspension bushing are shot. F-!!!!!!K. SO..... we put the two tires that aren't showing cords back on the front so I can get to my son's first meet. I look like total redneck now, with big n littles on a FWD car because i don't have time to swap all 4 and it's unsafe to put hte others back on anyway. So meet gets done at 3:30, I get back to the shop that has the wheel for my w8 which my wife is driving on the skinniest space saver I've ever seen. Uhhh, we have a problem. They delivered your tire to the wrong store, so it's not done.

. Where IS the tire? Oh we can probably get it her by 6 or 7. I'm like no, I have to get that car fucking on the road because I leave town on business TOMORROW. So it ends up being about another 10 miles further away at a totally unrelated mom an pop shop. I say fuck it, I'll just drive there and have it mounted, Its got to be done. They call, yup they wondered why it's there. so I get there, mount up the tire and they say, that'll be $229.95 I'm like nooo, it's covered under a road hazard warranty. They say, oh no you have to pay that up front and they re-emburse you and you are responsible for the mounting and balancing because we won't accept their reimbursement.

so now im out the whole fucking day I was supposed to be raking leaves and cutting grass that is now shin high from all the rain the last week or so, I haven't packed, I'm about $300 lighter in the wallet from a half assed tire job and I've got a car in the shop with what sounds like a bad transmission, and my son was gracious enough to share yet another fucking cold with me, so now I'm coughing and achy before I go out of town for three fucking days

well wanted to add to the story for those that read it initially. Courtney passed away at 10:54 this morning peacfuly in her icu room with her family by her side.

This past weekend I went to the bar to watch my old band play. One of my ex girlfriend was there with her family. Evidently it was her birthday party. I am at the bar for no more than 5 minutes when we all go outside to smoke and bull shit. I see my ex's brother, Jason, follow me out of the bar and start to square off with me. Me, being the person I am, ignore him and go about smoking and bullshitting with my friends. About a minute into my cigarette he (Jason) butts his way into my conversation and gets into my personal bubble (about a foot away from my face). He looks at me and says "We're going to be cool tonight right?" I look at him and tell him that we're going to be cool, I don't have any problems with anything. Telling him that it was going to be ok must have been his go button. His eyes glassed over and he got closer to me (now IN my face) WE'RE GOING TO BE RUCKING COOL TONIGHT RIGHT. THERE ISNT GOING TO BE ANY FUCKING PROBLEMS TONIGHT RIGHT. He continues yelling in my face for another 30 seconds or so untell he pipes off with "There isn't going to be any fucking proplems tonight right, because if there fucking is we're going to fucking tangle and I'm going to beet the shit out of you!" I say "there is not going to be any problems because I'm leaveing". As I start walking to my truck I hear foot steps behind me, I glance back and see him about a step behind me thats when a friend of mine standing off to the side asked what was going on, I glance back again and Jason is still on my ass. Now, me being a legal holder of a concealed weapon and Jason being (literally) twice the size of me I put my hand on my pistol and keep making a bee line for my truck.

Evidently on my way to my truck I walked past my ex, she got "scared" and called the police. She then told the police that I pulled my weapon OUT and POINTED it at her. As for her brother, Jason, the reason he didn't follow me all the way to my truck was because the friend that had asked what the problem was became the problem and ended up getting thrown into a parked car. The police told him that the only thing they could do is write down that he was harassed and then said that he needed to leave the bar. Jason, the instigator of all the problems, could stay because it was his birthday. I am now charged with menacing, I lost my concealed permit, two pistols and 500 for bail.

Monday I immediately contacted a lawyer, I paid 200 dollars for them to tell me they can't do anything until December 23rd when I get charged

. But I feel really good about the lawyer I am with because when they found out who my ex is her eyes light up and she said "I know her!" She has a record a mile long, she has about 15 restraining orders on her record because everyone of her exes "scare" her. She has multiple records of harassment and I might actually get this case in my favor. All my problems with end up with her looking like the good guy and me being some monster, and getting the short end of the stick.

It keeps getting better. So I had meetings in Fairfax Virginia today. 96 miles from home. Normally, about a 2 hour drive with traffic. We finished up at 3:15, I was on I-66 at 3:25 PM. I walked in the door to my house at 8:09 pm. Fuck if that wasn't one of the worst drives of my life. No piss breaks, no stops for food or drinks. nothing. It took me 40 minutes to go the 6 miles onto the Capital beltway. Hell, it took me 10 minutes to actually get off the fucking RAMP. 3 hours to go 22 fucking miles. I didn't break 20 mph for 4 muther fucking hours on interstates. I actually tried to get off the main roads twice and couldn't even get off the ramps! Not one report of an accident on any of hte roads I was on all afternoon... WHAT THE FUCK were people doing on the roads in DC and Baltimore today??????

My boss owes me for taking that meeting off her hands BIGTIME!!!!

I heard 50 was just as bad. I just talked with the other people I work with that left at the same time as I did, and they actually went back to the office in a government car. It took them 4.5 hours, and their drive was 50 miles shorter. Getting off of I-95 was the thing to do.
