Default Body parts questions

I did a search and I must not be searching the right words or something. I don't have enough irons in the fire and WAY too much money burning a hole in my pocket () so I decided to stare at the bug some more and make a list of things I need to address before I start hacking it up

My questions are -
The areas outlined in MkParker green are heater channels right.
The areas circled in red the parts suppliers are calling front quarters correct?

My other question is, is there any problems with putting a 61 body on a 67 pan. I know they are basically the same and I know I could make it fit, but I am not sure if its a simple bolt on swap

You might need to move the body bracket up inside the rear fender well. Other then that yes you can bolt them up.
Oh yeah you might need a solid pan to base the heater channel placement first So fix up the pan you wanna swap to first, then use it as a jig for your heater channel replacement.
Another option you have is to cut out the heater channels all together and just weld the body down to the 67 pan. it will be a few inches lower and your steering will need some reworking but other then that. If I ever channel a bug body I will section the under dash section up the required amount and leave the steering alone. The Dash would be no more though, which could be interesting.
This way your major cost will be wire and gas for your welder and thats something anyone can afford.
Oh yeah, you are correct on the parts and what they are called.

thank you both
As far as my quarter problems I'm not really finding any after market parts for pre 68's So I guess I'm just going to have to brake out the pocket book, get some sheet metal and fix my own up.
I probably will go the way of removing my heater channels. When I first got the bug I was tempted with the idea of just sectioning the rust out of the bottom and killing two birds with one stone. Now its time to go to good will and craigslist to see if I can rustle me up some bed frames and scrap iron for some braces
