the oval had black base/clear paint and pea green interior, oatmeal carpet, popouts....good stuff.

we dont have issues with reliability, our daily drivers have been beetles and buses for years.

the Honda powerplant should be reliable as well. just a little more hyper.

Love the Mini!! Like it when it looks almost stock with just the flared fenders. I've always been a Mini fan as I grew up with two in my family and even owned one once. My brother also restored one lately. All ours have been the same green to..

forget I said it, the point seems to be over looked here, not only did I say your oval was a nice car I'm sure of that, but I also remember stating that the value is overlooked most times in what it takes to build an oval vs other autos..we don't need to get into how reliable your cars are and what you own bro' you live in Fla your weather is night and day different than here...of course you can drive daily's and have a nice cars with out to many worries.

obivously this don't need to end up turning into a pissing match,it's a just a opinion,I mentioned something similar awhile back about trading the chassis car for another car and got the third degree...was told I was stupid for even thinking it...

no worries.

she'll enjoy it...and that's all that matter in the end.

Is the V-TECH conversion a kit of some sort? With the number of them done, and the success of the conversion, it seems like the car and engine were made for each other.

I know that you didn't build the car, but do you know anything about the installation procedure? How the wiring and computer hook-ups were accomplished? That kind of thing? Is it an engine/trans install or a full sub-frame clip including front suspension and all from the fire wall forward?

There seems to be a LOT of potential for other uses of this drive train, just wondering how it was all accomplished in your "new" mini?

Thanks.

there are a few kits out there, this one is from Mini Tec. it is a sub-frame with new suspension that uses complete engine/trans with some parts changes. The factory computer/electronics are used with a new harness.

there are also kits for AWD and rear engine as well.

all the power is too much for a stock chassis. the previous owner installed a full cage that ties to the front and rear suspensions.

many of the cars have only the standard VTEC motor, which should be plenty. this car has the Type R JDM version at 200 hp.

Ive been reading this and my thoughts haven't gone to building a vtec mini, but instead building a fun cup vw with a vr6 and a turbo. There are some evil thoughts that come from reading these pages.

That is a sweet ride for sure! The 56 is a nice car but I would have traded too!

I want to drive it!

Don't worry about the negative opinions, some people don't realize that at the end of the day, they are just cars. I've owned three ovals (one of them a ragtop) but I've never owned a mini.
