They had Rain-X in the 80s. I used it on my first couple of bugs starting in 1986 or 1987.

OK, The VERY early 80's, the before my bug was even 10 years old 80's. Like when Ronnie could still tell you his name 80's!. I do remember using it in the 80's now that i think about it because I definitely used it on my 86 grand national.

It still took years to get that dirty sock smell off my right hand from my "defroster mitts"
