Default Michigan Vintage VW Festival Pics...
Re:: My favorite cars there....

Went to the MVVC Festival today. Got Sophy's engine back in and running good yesterday and took her to the show today. Weather was perfect. Site was a little soggy from the recent rain, but we had a good turn out of cars. Sophy was the only Type 3 there.

Anyway there were a couple of very interesting Volksrods there that got lots of attention. Neither one of the owners is big on the internet or computer. The first is this white with red beauty.

There were a few pics of it on here before from a previous show I think. Really nicely done car. Here are a few more pics with some details. Enjoy...

There was also this really unique Volksrod Custom. I would love to get the Sled next to this thing when it is done. The owner drove it to Michigan from Long Island NY. No, it doesn't have airbags....he drove it this low! Very creative car. Little rough in the finish department, but the concept is way cool...

One other Volksrod made it and parked next the white one. I have posted pics of this one before, but the pair made for some nice photos...

and then there was this....Not sure what to make of this work in progress. Mid-engine Chrysler V6...

and I just had to post this pic of a tower in the center of downtown Ypsilanti....

Only thing that would have made it even funnier is if it had been part of a convent....

I was at the show too, Talked to Garry with the white rod, I told him I posted pics up here last summer and he said he wasnt real computer savvy but he was gonna look for it, maybe he will see this? Nice guy!!!

I didnt see the mid v6 engined car,But I think I met the guy last summer, he bought some red super fenders from me and told me what he was building... sounded alot like what that looks like, and those might be my red fender sections welded on there? lol

That leadsled bug was way cool!

Pretty decent show. John summed it up. Talked w/ John a bit but I didn't see you Gary, or maybe you didn't recognize me with the baby and stroller

It did give me an opportunity to raz my engine builder about getting my engine done though

Yeah, I didn't make it down there myself, as I had a customer show up to drop off a Corvette for painting. At least I got my portable garage up.
