Lightbulb "Made in Denmark" - Comment Thread

This will be a comment Thread for my intro/build thread found here
I figured i just a well could start this now instead of when i should have had all the good advises

I'm going to the garage now... Will post some more info later today.

Please comment, ask, criticize and give me a slap or two if you think i'm doing my stuff the wrong way... . In other words: All comments are welcome and appreciated!.

Thanks.

^Consider the pictures as pure imagination. I am NOT a photoshop servant, and i'm not sure what style i want yet.

Cheers, Michael

I consider it as a warm welcome to the board..

That is how I would take it.

Anywhere else, it might mean something different.

Using a lift off top, the second pic could also be the third pic.
Just needs some 'vert style reinforcements, and a way to
get enough air to the motor.

Pillar? Oops, I am now internationally chigrinalated. But oh yeah, a lift off top would be nice.

Lift off top would be sweet! Does Denmark have regulations against modifying the wheelbase? I know others in Europe have had that restraint to work around.

Thanks for all your feedback.

It seems like the red one should have a chance.

But.. Maybe someone would help me out a little. i have some twists with the proportions Vs. legal issues regarding the build.
It seems like nr. 3 (last one) in this sketchup, is the only one which can be build without having to modify the car a lot after inspection. My only doubts here should be wheter the car gets too short and compact.

What would you go for in case you do not give sh.. about rules and regulations.. ?

Rules are: Shortened pan!.. Everything else has to be documented by VW..

Let's keep it with the proportions.. The rules gets too damn complicated..

Versions three and four speak to me, with four speaking the loudest.

Proportions might be easier to get "right", without a roof.
If you want a roof of some kind, start with one for your design.
Maybe a shortened Hebmuller, with a lift off roof ?

Hey slot, cool project you've got going on there!

One thing that might help, for when you are looking for replacement parts, is... You don't have a "65" Balljoint front end... They didn't start making Balljoint front ends till I believe '67 was the first year...

Other than that I think you're heading in the right direction with the look! ;-)

I would go with #4 myself...

BTW, Welcome!

I like the slots too, I have the same set for my (long ass) Buggy project.
