Make my '69 my own

My name is Alex Frost, I am from Missouri. My twin brother and I bought our 1969 VW Beetle from a family friend for $100. That was our first car, and we shared the car throughout high school. We both joined the Navy right after we graduated in '06. At the beginning of '09, we hauled the car from MO to California. I currently live in Ventura, but I will be moving to San Diego in July, with the VW. So, finally the car is going to be all mine. I want to keep the car looking mostly stock, while being lowered with stock wheels and white walls, fender skirts, suicide doors, a roof rack, and a bored and/or stroked engine. I'm not sure exactly what I want to do with the the currently stock 1600, but I am going to build it up.
