Re:: virginia beach that is

Well, I havent been on here in a while. Just trying not to get distacted.
My Wife got a really good job down there and we're moving. My last day of work was friday. Would have been at my job 14 years in oct. We secured a rental house over the weekend, so its real.

Sounds as if you are fully committed now. Great that your wife has a new good job. Have you figured out a job yet? Or waiting until you get settled in? Did you get a house with a big garage?

I will be playing Mr. Mom for a while. But, I'm gonna be looking into alot of things for work. Hot Dog cart?
The house has a wide driveway and one car atatched garage. I think I can get into the backyard from the driveway. Good for trailer storage.
Theres a aircooled VW shop in town and 2 or 3 clubs. Also, autocross at an old airfield and a stockcar track not far in the next town. No close dragstrips, though.
and
LESS SNOW!

Just think, you'll have to learn how to pump your own gas now.

Sweet deal!! Hope you got enough room for visitors.

I hear yah on the gas thing. Thank God for debit cards at the pump. When you leave Jersey and roll into a gas station, you never know if you pump first or pay first. I hate that outsider feeling.

Its a cool place to vacation. The resort area has high rise hotels on the beach, but thats only a few miles of a 240 sq mile town.

VMP is 1.5 hours away, not a bad drive to get to a nice dragstrip, and a nice drive at that. Then there's NorthEast dragway in North Carolina, nice 1/8 mile downhome drag strip about 45 minutes or so away. Lived in Virginia Beach for 11 years, nice place, unless you like to modify vehicles. I lived less than a mile from the VW shop off of VA Beach Blvd, nice shop and guys, then there's a VW mechanic on Oceana Blvd near the base. The beach is nice, to stay away from, but then, I hated tourists and the cops that patrol the beach.

Spent a little quality time at Ft. Eustis back in the late 60s. The hot spot in those days was the Peppermint Beach Club in VB. I have heard rumors that is still is...?

I just want to hear what you think of the VA drivers. NJ drivers are bad but I think VA drivers are worse. I would like to hear what you think since you moved from NJ to VA.

Good luck down there.

I think their actually more polite. The people are just plain nicer down here. Lots of outa state people and licence plates due to military and the resort town factor. I'm often lost while driving down here, so I'm keeping up with the Jersey reputation.

No one has worse drivers than New Jersey.

Young girls seem to be impatient on the road down here.

The cops sure as hell don't appear to b enforcing any speed limits here in Ocean City MD this summer because everyone is driving like an impatient ass. And when did This become the Jersey Shore????. If i didn't know where i was I'd think i was walking down the boards in Seaside Heights from all the Jersey Shore bullshit in all the T-shirt shops.

The roads make about as much sense in the Tidewater as they do in Jersey, but U made a good trade VA beach for Jersey.
