Re:: Checking in for the intro
New to the site but not to VWs . I have had a VW in one form or another since I was in high school ( in the good ol' 60s). Currently working on lowering a 1970 Fiat 850 Sedan on a shortened bug frame. The frame was already a donor from a buggy project and the Fiat, well, it was a non-titled rust bucket that just needs one more chance. I get to shorten the front beams (new challenge) and the rear swing axles. I may have to take an extra inch out of the pan for length (wheel base) but if it ain't hard it isn't fun. It isn't my first try at cuttin and welding but it is still gonna be a time suck. I'll post some photos, this is never gonna be a show car, but it should turn some heads. So I'm pretty confident on the beam shortening but the swing axle that's gonna be a trip. I'll start searching the threads, but anybody got a handle on this? Gonna be a 6 inch reduction.
