Hey everyone, My name is Matt and I am 20 years old and currently attend Rowan University. I've had a big interest in building a volksrod for quite a few months now. I am not new to cars. I also own a Chrysler crossfire and a 1966 mustang that I restored over the past 4 years. Its finally complete and I needed another project that I could get some more grease on my hands. Although I wanted something a little more simple and one that won't burn my wallet. So I waited for the right car and after searching for a month or two I bought my beetle. I paid $675 and $100 to transports for a virtually rust free standard beetle. Was restored recently in 1998 the owner said. And also came with all the paperwork from the original owner. The car did have one problem. I was involved in a drivers side front end collision.
Although I made sure the frame was fine and It was. Just the beam was bad as well as the front quarter panel. Car came pretty much complete although the engine was filled with grime and crap. wasn't to concerned though because I plan on carbing it. Looking to get it running and good so I can bring it back to my school for my junior year and represent my build.
