Default O/T "vintage" photography

So I'm downsizing a LOT with my upcoming move.. and I'm finding my Grandfather's camera gear.. I've priced some of it on eBay and it's going for like $5-$10 per lense :/

Does anyone here shoot 35mm that might be interested in any of this stuff?

If I can't find anyone who wants it, I'm going to give it to Good Will, but I'd rather give it to someone to use than have it sit on a shelf and get bought by some "hipster douchebag"..

Here's two pics of what I've found so far, but I know I have at least one more (I think two, but maybe three) camera bodies, and some more lenses...

Here's the deal, you pay shipping and it's yours. use it in good health, or sell it and keep that to yourself. Most of it is untouched.. Grandpa used to see things on sale and buy them and then never use them, and the shit he did use, he took very good care of..

Damn. I've got a Canon Pellix QL 35mm I had shipped to my photographer dad while I was in Vietnam (1971). Just before he died, he gave it back to me. I still use it off and on. Will the lenses fit a Canon?

I'm pretty sure all my lenses are Vivitar, I think there MIGHT be some Canon stuff, but I'm not positive.. :/

We still use a 35mm camera that was my father-in-laws, I just bought 2 rolls of film for it last November, but the batteries were dead in the camera & the flash, all I know is that it is a Cannon & once you learn how to set it, it takes great pictures

Vivitar lenses are the equivalent of an aftermarket part. I have a Lentar 90-230 zoom telephoto I picked up at our stop-over in Japan on the way home. What kind of camera bodies do you have. You might check with a local camera store. Some folks are really interested in the "old stuff." But with digital, there's a lot of it sitting around.

I know I could probably make a fortune selling this stuff to some hipster piece of shit, but i have neither the time nor the inclination to put that effort in..

If I'm not mistaken, Vivitar was a competitor for Canon and Nikon and the rest back in the day.. They may be mostly aftermarket now, but they were on their own before..

I haven't found the bodies yet.. I still have 6 more bins to go through though..

Vintage photography was something I find interesting. My father had a darkroom in the basement. He was heavily into it. Keep us updated on it. I wonder how much shipping would be to MN

yeah, my dad had a medium format darkroom set up while I was growing up.. He didn't use it for a few years so Mom sold it all at a garage sale one year :(

I still have his camera though, it is NOT for sale, EVER, for ANY price...

His father bought it in 1968 for about $3,000... it's a Hasselblad 1000F body, with two film backs, the sport finder, flash trigger, three Carl Zeiss lenses, and a couple other misc accessories..

I've shot at least two dozen rolls of film, but never developed most of them due to lack of funds.. each roll is only 12 shots, and the last time I had any developed was probabyl around 2002.. I had to go to a specialty camera shop, who outsourced it and charged $15 for negatives and $1.25 per print..

I always wanted to invest in a darkroom set up, but never did..

Keeping that camera though.. had numerous offers throughout the years, including one professional sprts photographer who offered me one Digital SLR with lenses, and one film SLR with lenses and flashes for both..

I still have 5 bins in my garage to go through, once I have piled up all the camera stuff, I'll see if I can get an estimate for MN if you'd like..

well, I had previously only found lenses and a couple of old flashes, all going for between $5 and $15 on ebay.. a couple nights ago I found one of the 35mm camera bodies.. It's an old Minolta that apparently is fetching between $150 and $230..

So in the interest of eating when we get out to Virginia, I think I'm going to make packages and ebay them when we get settled out there.. Sorry guys.
