Default Ghia disc brake fitment
Re:: Doesn't

I'm throwing together a bj beam with dropped spindles and disc brakes. New calipers from Carcraft, new eBay spindles(empi?), new bearings(autozone) and nos rotors that I've had for years. The rotors seem to be a little out too far. The calipers almost slide on. It's not the pads. It's metal to metal or rotor to outer caliper contact. Any ideas?

I wish I could help, but Rob put all four of my discs on.. I haven't driven the car enough since then to wear down the pads, so I honestly don't even know what kinda brakes/pads I have other then them being discs... haha

Heard this before. One guy didn't have the bearing races seated all the way. Make sure you have the right bearings to go with it. Another had to shim the caliper out to line up better. I think he also had to machine a bit of the caliper mount to clear the rotor.

Yeah, I'm pulling it apart when I get a chance. I'll check all the above. Shimming isn't and option. Because I need to take away and not add to gain clearance. Thanks

IF the bearings are seated correctly I'd say it could be because all the parts weren't bought together as a kit, talk to the placenter where you bought all the parts from & ask them, just a thought

IF you wanna keep everything & you need to remove material from somewhere to get them to fit, it would be easiest to remove it from the calipers, that's another thought

It seems like the seals are wrong. I got new ones and just haven't got back out there to put it back together.

I've had to shim kits too... different parts fit - well - different.
