I may have to talk to you on that StickerDick...

Thanks again guys for all the comments

I am enjoying this build it just seams for the last little bit I have not had the time to work on it as much as I want.
Grandkids, Dogs, Family Life and so on.

Anyway small update for you all.

Got out to the garage and started the back window chop.

Did a layout to figure out how much and where I thought would be the best place to cut and join the window.

I joined the window sections back together and took a good look and liked the flow with the chop so this is where I'll leave it.

Just tacked the inside in place so it looks like I'll have to do a little bit of re-alignment to get it all to blend together.

I'll see if I can get some more done on it tomorrow.

I'm also trying to spend some time on my Volkstruck and need to catch you all up to date on that one, I am still trying to decide if I should combine the truck build with this one or just start a separate thread on it.

Until next time.

I got out to the garage today for a few hours to see if I could get the back window worked out.

As you can see there's a bit of work to be done to get it all to look like it belongs.

I started with making a relife cut up the inside of the window to get the same profile.

Then I made relife cuts to the window and pulled everything into alignment.

I cut a little bit more out to get a better patch piece in, this is the end result.

I repeated the same steps for the passenger side.

Next up, section and shortening the hood.

That's it for now Hopefully I can get out to the garage this coming week and get some more done.

Until next time.

Just awesome! I finish putzing around the garage and then see what you get done in the same amount of time.....awesome! You are definitely a motivator and a skilled craftsman!

Not a whole lot done on the 61' but here's a small update,

I got started on the hood area, I cut the old hood to see if I could work with it then decided to just start from scratch with a different one. (I stole the one that belongs to my 66' volkstruck project)

I decided to layout a cut line where I thought it would work best.

After the layout I cut the nose off, then cut the top section to fit and tacked it in place.

Then I set the nose back in place to see what I needed to do to make it work.

So it looks like I'll have to make the nose section wider, I never would of thought that once I took 2"plus out of the top section of the hood that I'd have to add to the lower section. That's it on the 61' for now.

I did get some work done on the volkstruck project, I took the engine over to a friends (I bought the 66' after it had been in a bad engine fire, it was rebuilt about 4800 miles before the fire) after replacing the top end, adjusting the valves and replacing most of the gaskets we got it to start It runs smooth, I still have some fine tuning to do, but I need to detail it out first (new tins, paint, ect) I have decided to start a builb thread on it so look for it within the next few days, I'll call it "My Volkstruck"

I also put my 67' Volksrod up for sale on Ebay
I have had fun with it for 4+ years and need to thin out my projects, plus the money will help me finish some of my other projects going on right now.

Until next time.
