VolksRod Mob Work Weekend
Re:: Just read it and I'll explain. hahaha
OK, I have had this idea for a while but haven't said anything about till Mike Meet. Now I know that I'm not the only one that thought this cause when I said something at Mike Meet the guys were like yeah I had the same thought. Sorry for rambling it's Friday and the is flowing.
I purpose that we set up a VR work weekend in the local like tri-state area's to get together and kick ass on one person's car at there house or shop. For example: Carl ( carlsbugs ) wants to chop his top but not alone because he's never done it and also needs the car to deliver pizza's in for work. (Carl and Sam sorry it's just an example. Thanks foe letting me use you.) So Carl picks a weekend that is good for him and a couple others that are pretty close and then any other VRodder that wanted to show up and help out could. I said that this might be good to do like once every third month or so depending on gas prices and work schedules. I hope this is making sense. Like I said it's late. You would be amazed at how much you can get done with a couple guys and a grinder or two and some of the official lubricant (Beer). I think that 3or for guys working for 2 or 3 weekends on say Sam's ( stayndglass ) 56 v8 project could get up and going no problem. this is just an idea so lets hear what y'all thank.
I would like to see the Southern VA, NC,SC, and GA guys get together and try this. OK let have it. What do you think?
Later J
We need to find a stand-in Scott to "supervise" down here in the south. Yah know do nothing and drink all the beer.

Re: VolksRod Mob Work Weekend
i'm definatly down with that. and not just because you used me as an example.(although this would be a great place to start seeing as carl has something he needs to pick up down here) but where ever whenever. i would love to head back up north and help those guys too but gas money and travel time make it not so much. 5-6 hour drive not so bad but a 12 hour drive one way just kills when you only have a weekend.
mob work can get some shit done quick as hell.

isn't that what everybody thinks we do in the south anyway?

This is an awesome concept, a perfect example is overhaulin. Those guys just all work together and get stuff done. Great for motivation as well.
One comes to mind in the North Texas/Southern Oklahoma area.

Re: VolksRod Mob Work Weekend
No it's not but it is the start of one.
That's the whole idea is to get different group that closely locate getting together and cranking some cool shit out. You know the motto "Rodders helping Rodders". Now get to organizing.
I will help organize the Mid-Atlantic region. I will be welcome all the help I can get. That means Sam and Carl you were just drafted for GA. and SC. later J

Well, since I have a vehicle I'm going to need to pick up from GA, I vote we raid sams house (staynedglass) and redline fan can tow it home for me. How far of a drive would it be for you, Jay?
Redlinefan, would Spartanburg, SC be out of your way coming back from Atlanta?
I also vote we get started on sams oval project. If it ends up looking anything like JoeDirts drawing, its going to be the catsazz!
Soultron, my brother, matt, wannabeetle on this forum, is stationed in New River, you should send him a PM, maybe yall can help each other with your bugs!

well of course you would get no argument from me but i wasn't going to suggest it. depends on how many people and having to clear it with kendra and what the dates are but if nothing else you can throw a tent up in the back yard. of course beer would be supplied. maybe fire up the grill one nite. everybody show up fridaynightish- work all day saturday- recover sunday morning and head back home?

Re: VolksRod Mob Work Weekend
Carl it would be about 4-5 hrs for me which is pretty cool with me.
Sam of course you have to get the "BOSSES" approval. Dates would be set by you since we are raiding your house. Food and beer would be great and a couch or piece of ground for my poleless tent. hahaha.
I was thinking everybody show up sometime friday night up early sat morning and kickass all day and into the night. Get up sunday do some more and everybody head out around 12-3pm. That was my thoughts.
We need to start a list of tool that we will need and if the victim doesn't have it. So if someone can bring it or borrow it so we have it. Like if the Victim doesn't have air compressor and someone doesn't have a big portable one then we need electric tools and drop cords.
Also carpooling there is a good opinion since gas is outragous.
I hope someone wants a chop cause I'm dying to do one.
we could also meet at one person's house an work on a few things on a couple people's rides. that is another variance. later J

Re: VolksRod Mob Work Weekend
As soon as Roxanne's done, I'm in. Just let me know when and where! If it's out of state or a pretty good hop, I'll need a place to park. I'll sleep in the bus. Sounds like a badass idea!

Re: VolksRod Mob Work Weekend
As far as the rollback goes, I would have to check my dates when it gets set in stone let me know. Its my bosses but he is super cool about me taking it. I dont think I would drive it more than one state away from NC due to fuel is nearly 4.75 a gallon for that beast. So sorry no GA for me. But would not mind if some one going down stopped by to bum some tools to take with them if needed. Hope this helps.

No problem, I really wasn't being serious about you haulin it for me anyway. I think I have access to a tow dolly or trailer. If not, a oneway uhaul from monroe to spartanburg would be worth it.
