Decided to add some plating for extra joint strength

Also, welded the spring perch to the front crossmember while I can still flip it all around for a good hot weld as it supports the entire front of the vehicle.

Frame so far

Ah ha, you had robotic help. I can see the happy little guy standing on the far side of the frame and admiring his work. Is that the R2D2-W15 model?

I'd kick in with a traditional, "is it done yet?" But it probably is.... Great build!

Deadlines. I love them. Especially that whooshing sound as they pass by.

Started putting together the engine/trans/rearend cradle today. Also picked up 4 trailer fenders to make two big fat tire fenders.

Built a hitch into the frame and modified the rear crossmember to accept tail lights. Also fabricated some brackets for the parking brake cables.

I was 'gonna ask what you planned to tow with the hitch, then realized you could pull about anything. (I've used my Single Cab to tow, launch and retrieve a 22' Catalina sailboat, about 3000 lbs. total) I checked out your Daihatsu project, a really slick build. I like your radiator placement.

Thanks. The V8 Daihatsu Hijet fits in a 5x10 lawn mower trailer that I have. For car shows etc.
