We used Blitz Black on my chop top and my son's '64 and spray painted flames over both of them and pinstriped w/OneShot and had NO problems with anything!!!
It goes on thin so make sure you put enough coats on so it won't be blotchy.
We used my handy dandy $19.95 Harbor Frieght spray gun. It is a 10 footer (ok, maybe 20!) but that didn't have anything to do with the paint, that was my lask of experience!

Go with it! My brother's have use dit for YEARS........and now I will as well!

Have any of you heard of POR-15? Its suppose to be a crazy paint system that completely eliminates rust. it can be used as a primor or a final coat. they make everything fender to engine. its www.por15.com i think. im planning on using it for my ride. any suggestions are welcome!

This stuff is the best. go to MasterSeriesCT.com Ask VWFanatic (Dan) about it or VWSplitman (Chuck). They will be more than happy to tell you all about it.

POR-15 sucks.

Go with the MasterSeries... put it on and you're done.

You don't have to buy 10 different products and follow a 12 step program, like you do with POR-15, just to find out that you were off 1 minute and 32 seconds on "step 4" causing your coating to peel off like a scab on a crack whore.

Hey ovalchick, I mean dont topcoat the car with POR-15 -not Blitz Black. I realize petes car is blitz black and think it awesome . I was directing my comment to Redman 76.

if you topcoat your car with POR15 it will fail within a short time. it is UV sensitive and will break down in the sunlight......now topcoating with masterseries will work fine. or unlike POR15, you can topcoat masterseries without a barrier coat.....plus POR is considerably more expensive.

A freind of mine told me that he can get me a "Good Deal" (Free or almost Free) on some paint but my color choices are Yellow or Yellow.

The reason is that its School Bus Paint. His father works on School busses and they have tons of the paint in his shop.
I am seriously thinking about it now.

I was thinking I could always just tint it and that way it would be really obvious what the paint is. I have always liked Orange or Greens anyway.

So what do you guys think, I figure this isn't a bad place since we are talking about Alternatives to high priced paints.

Also Master Series is great. Just make sure you use it up soon after you open it. If it sits around for a few months it will dry up to a rock hard layer on the top and you'll need to jam a screw driver into the side of the can, drain it and try and find all the parts you were planning on coating, get them ready and do it right then so as to not waste the rest of the paint.

Just get all of your stuff ready prepped and plan on using up the entire quart right away.
