Now basically waiting for the engine to go into the back, mounting the final rear quarter windows and dropping the front.

And off course mounting the homemade aluminium T-bars.... ;)

Rolled out the last time without an engine.

All my measuring during the winter seems to have paid out. The aircleaners do fit in the enginecompartment. :D

Still needs some small things to be done but I begin to see an end on this..
Drove it about 10 miles from the garage and home last night..

That really is a fine car. Those vintage aircleaners look super fine and I love the paint, color and plain gives it that classic look.

Had to mount the bumpers on it until I got the annual inspections done. Needed to replace two balljoints in the front before that.

Today I mounted the T-bars back again. Now lightly polished.

Was out at WADD (Wasa Aircooled Dyno Day last saturday.

That view gave me a vision that the car dont look too wrong... But there have to be done something for the engine as it was running lean so we didn't get any good results...

This Oval did show the way though even though the clutch on it slipped too much to let out the full power of it...

Then on sunday we went out on a local Late Autumn Coffee meeting with mainly US made cars but anything rolling on wheels and making noice was welcome. We managed to get 4 cars from the WestVolks gang out atleast.

Some of my favorites from that meeting:

Later on the sunday evening I cleaned up the -66 and parked it in the garage at the summerhouse for the winter...

Been quite slow here lately.

The 66 has mainly been driven occasionally during summer with no misshaps except for the 6V battery that have gotten tired the past week.

I finally got the new rear wheels mounted this week though.

Looks much better with the wider wheels!!

Today I replaced the worn out dual Solexes with the 66 own original 1300 single carb and now it runs way much better even though the engine is a 1680cc...

This one have been stored in the garage at the summerhouse. When we were out there in January to check the place we offcourse also checked the garage. The younges directly started to ask me to take the "Folkvagn" home.. *Pleeeeease Daddy!!!*

The past weekend we were out there again and continued wit the unfinished work on restoring the summerhouse prior to the upcoming summer..

I took me some time to start tearing the engine apart once again. Now because I'm about to convert it from 6V to 12V. Got tired of the troubleshooting 6V...
Engine waiting for a new smallbody 12V generator.

Stock carb converted to 12V.

New exhaust that I bought last autumn testfitted.

Ok. Now the winter seems to be giving in over here too so the past month I have spent on tracking some 12V parts prior to a 6V -> 12V conversion.

Found a smallbody 12V generator so I can keep as much stock look as possible in the enginebay. Unfortunately I couldn't find a 12V regulator that have the same body as the 6V. I know for a fact that Porsche Tractors have those... (My Super does..)

Today I gave the 30 PICT-1 an overhaul and replaced the acceleratorpump diaphrams etc.

Also replaced the 125 mainjet with a 130 instead. Read in several placed that the 130 in the 30 PICT works well on 1600+ stock engines.

Today I got all the parts together again. Had to push the car out of the winterhibernation as it was too dark to see how to connect the turnsignal relay and headlight relay...

The generator regulator location is maybe not the most optimal but I think the overall look still looks satisfying..

The car still looks good taking in the concideration that I didn't wax or polish it at all last year...

Yes, I'm still here. Not often enough though as the wireless 3G is a bit slow over here at the summerhouse where we've been living the past months...

This is how my daily driver have been looking the past months too.

Oops! Seems like I have not posted any about this daily driver this season... I took it back in trafic in the end of April and have been driving almost daily since. At the moment I have driven 2000km so far this year. (appr. 1242miles)

I wanted to update the look some so I went the short way and painted wheels black and brakedrums aluminium rattlecan paint...

Also found a set of better original bumperblades so these were polished and fit on it too. (old frontbumper to the left)

It also got the honour of installing the Volksrod shiftknob temporarily until the 356 is done..

Yesterday I got the new frontspindles. The plan for next year is to fit Thing frontspindles and Barndoor bus rearaxle... The frontspindle swap will lift the front from current with 6 inches.. In other words about 2 inches higher than with stock spindles.. In the rear the barndoor axles also lift the rear the same amount..

Last summer I built new transmission with bus reductionboxes. The past week I finally got into swapping it in. Still looks funny with dropspindles and stock front wheels... Hopefully get them swapped to Thing spindles on Monday..
