Default "Bettie" is a cover model

OK... so she's not done, and has been years in the making BUT the build was recently featured in a local magazine.

I couldnt have made it even this far without this site and I cant wait to proudly mount my "Volksrods" hood emblem and member plaque in their place on "Bettie".
The friends that I've made because of Volksrods.com are some of the BEST men i've ever had the pleasure of meeting... be it in person or not. Even the "assholes" ;) on here get my love.

As for the build... we're battling through the wiring at this time then its a matter of buttoning up a few things and i'm on the road!

Thank you all for your wealth of knowledge, mercy on the ignorant and entertainment through the years.

xoxo

As for the hi-lited section, I too love all the members I have met here, dealt with, bought parts from, just a Great bunch of people, I'd take every one of ya's to my family reunion if we still had one, Hmmm, if I could organize anything, I'd get a family reunion started up again, but hell, I have a tough time organizing my sock drawer

Rock on VWBettie

Hi VWBettie

I love it, great photo shoot too. My son lives out in the Lawrence Kansas area and I get to visit at least once a year and I love it out there. You come from a wonderful state. Never been to Emporia tho.

You have a cool looking VW for sure...I also like the white Baja in the back ground.

The white baja was my first car! Caused my whole VW love. What you can't see is there is a 62 convertible to the right of the baja too. It's next on the block for a complete restoration.
<3 the Lawrence area! Emporia is about 70 miles south west

Awesome coverage!! You've got a great story, and an excellent team of help!
It's cool how ya got the hood ornament in there, and a good plug for the site!

Keep up the good work! Can't wait to see It sitting on those old wire wheels!

Thanks everyone!
Shes further along now than she was in the photos (thank goodness). Just needing some rainy days here so we can work!
The hood ornament is one of my favorite pieces on the car! So many sentimental pieces to her. Just wish they hadnt edited my plugs for Volksrods.com and The Volksrod Shop!!

Hey VWBettie

I was just looking again at that cover shot you posted on here, what is that massive wrench in your hands used for?? I dont think I have ever seen a wrench that big before.

Just wondering out loud thats all...

Yeah...that wrench...it was borrowed from a diesel mechanic shop. I tried to fight having it in photos since it was purely prop and not used on the car in any way.
