Had a good productive weekend. Gotta love the long weekends! Got my hood lock installed. Wanted to make sure I got locking hood pins because this is where my battery and all my witing will be housed.

Also got the bottom of the dash/wiring compartment put in. Threw and old battery in there to make sure my fit was good. Was close but more than enough room.

Got my rad cradle installed and the frame horns removed. I still need to plate in the frame, but had to throw the rad on there to get a look.

Stoked with how that looks on there. Can't wait to get the engine in!

Trimmed and capped off the rear frame rails. Just cleans things up nicely.

Got my piston tail light installed. Just need to put the electronics and lenses on.really diggin' these!

Had to get a shot with the rad and the cowl templates on there for a more complete picture. Can't wait to get the engine in there and get the cowl finished up. Stoked with how this is all coming along!

In my research, I found that these just flow so much better than the traditional no valve tail light...haha

I had a thought about the ends of the front frame rails. Use some round tubing and turn then into housings for driving lights.

I thought about doing something like that, but I think I just want to keep things simple up front and just have the headlights. I got headlights that have built in signals so that I didn't have a separate signal light as well. But things change all the time so who knows what'll happen...lol

Had a really productive weekend! Got some headlight mounts made.

Once those were done I have to put everything on the front so I could get a more complete look at it.

Loving how everything is looking! I also got my cowl side panels in.

Most importanatly, the engine is in!! Well mostly. I still need to make a tranny crossmember.

Now I can finish up the floors and get the firewall done!

These are the rims I got. Picked up a set of Center Lines. Wide in the back and narrower up front. My buddy also got me a set of 31's for the back. There are gonna look sweet!

Little bit of a difference from the stock tire size! hahaha I'm shooting to have this driving for a big show coming up June first. Got quite a bit to do, but I think I can do it.

Got in another good productive weekend! Lots of big stuff off the list.

Got my tranny crossmember made so now the engine and trans are officially bolted in.

Got the firewall fitted and welded in.

I also got the front panel of the "Hood" filled in.

I also got the first piece of my floor pans in. The passenger side floor pan is in!

Had a great weekend, got lots of stuff checked off the list! Floors are all done. Just need to put some seam seal on and paint.

Got the hole for the column put into the firewall. Used a piece of 2" exhaust pipe to support the end of the column and for the column grommet to fit into.

Got the accelerator pedal, brake pedal and master cylinder installed.

Got my shifter mounted. Just need to lower it down a bit. It's the truck style one so it's super tall, but has an adjust able mount.

Threw the seat in to chesk fitment and make sure everything was comfortable. Nice to see all these things going in!

Adjusted the height of the shifter and trimmed down the cover. Perfect fit!

Everyday this view gets a little bit better! Can't wait to get this thing rolling!

Well I didn't meet my goal of having the bug ready for a big show that happened this past weekend in my area, but I did get damn close. Managed to get a lot done in the last few months! Pretty stoked on that. And now it won't be long before I'm cruising again. Had Frankie out to do some work on the rear area so I had to throw the rad on and grab a couple shots.

Finally got my big wheels on the back! Love these Center Line rims. Tires are 265/75/15. Gave the big the look it needed. Leveled out the ride height. I'm glad I didn't lower the front yet. Might have been sitting a little too low. I wasn't sure how I'd feel with it being this height, but now that those tires are on there it's growing on me.

Yeah that's what I keep seeing too. I'm really diggin the way this is all coming together. My plan was to drive it like this for a while and build a new frame for it, but it may just end up staying like this.
