My name is Alan and I'm a bugaholic. I'm from Irving, TX, been here for basically 45 years. Married 20 years and got two brats (girl 13 and boy 7). I first got in to bugs, back in '62 when Dad showed up with a 60. I got my first bug in 72, a 65 beetle that my grandfather bought new. Presently running a 69 baja, which I have not had the time to redo, rust around various windows and package tray, repaint ( the rattle can red is fading away and off). Other projects include:
65 pick-up - I bought rolled and am going to make a mid engine RPU out of it.
69 Drag bug - presently rebuilding a new motor for it, re doing the interior and building a new roll cage.
65 FGB - that I and building into a mid engine, tube framed car with a blown t4 or bi-turbo vair engine.
59 Chebby P/U - Permenant(sp?) Jack stand queen. PLans include putting 454/400 combo in it along with putting it on a 73 chassis.
PLus more vdubs than I can think of.
By day i work for Siemens as the Maintenace Supervisor. I am also a HVAC contractor. That is why it takes me so long to work on my projects.
Later
Alan
