Cool

Hi,

I am new here and this is my first post. I have been into VWs for a while now and have always wanted to chop one. This one came about because I told a friend that I could do all the work by myself and build a car without going into the poor house. It will still turn as many heads as his chopped ford coupe that he has spent over 12 grand on and it is not even finished yet. So to him I say !! I got the idea to do this by looking at pictures on this website (my inspiration was the Dayzwalker) and just had to join and show off some of my creation too. I plan on adding the straight axle front end to give it a different look. I am still in the creative stages of trying to figure out what will give this the "Oh shit, look at that" factor. It started out as a stock 1968 VW beetle. I chopped 4" in the front and 3" in the back and shortened the rear quarter windows by 6". This chop left the front windshield at a height of 9". So far a good start. I really appreciate the volksrod website because around the area that I live in (North Eastern Oregon) the olk school and out of the norm hot rods is somewhat frowned upon. I am sure to get pulled over quite often considering that I am a meer 6'4" white bald guy driving a creation that I barely fit into. Well once again to them I say !!
