Hi everyone. I am new to this sight. I haven't even been a lurker. I just stumbled across it lookin' for some VW info.
I have been a die hard street rodder for too many years to admit. At a rod show this weekend I came across a VW with a Ford front suspension set up without fenders. I had seen a few of these in the past and loved them. This weekend I really started thinking about a similar car. After reading a few of the archives here I learned it isn't necessary to use the old Ford style suspensuion up front.
Anyway on my return from the recent rod show I found my daily beater car in the street where I had left it. BUT now the back window was smashed. After many calls I have found no one has the glass. What better excuse do I need than to start a VW project now. I can't afford to drive my big truck to work daily with the price of fuel. My wife has to believe that the VW will get a lot better fuel mileage right?
