I found this sight just browsing the VW stuff. Man ! I was hooked when I saw the rods you guys have made.

OK some background on me. I'm been around a bit ... OK I'm one of the old farts. I've been tinkering with bugs since high school and have owned a few off and on through out my life. Uuuuugh .... let's see, bug convert, ghia coupe w/modified engine (built for drag racing), another bug I drove and raced Solo II on weekends, a Thing, a couple more bugs. I've been bugless for too many years now.

I'm in the process of selling my 81 Goldwing to buy the start of my Volksrod !

Oh Yeah for Father's day I asked for and got a SAWZALL !!!!!

Other things about me ... uuuugh ... how many pages do I get ??? Once a month I play cowboy by shooting CAS (cowboy action shooting). We use the guns of the old west and shoot a timed competition ... with a lot of FUN mixed in.

I'm a Scoutmaster with a troop of about 10 boys. I'm also a Grandpa with 3 Grandkids.

Well thats just chapter 1 ... I'm sure other stuff will spill out of my mouth from time to time.

But I can't wait to get my hands on a bug to start stripping off the fenders, whacking off the roof, and prolly extend the front beam ... an learning to weld too.

Thanks for providing a Great Site to help share info and ideas.

Woooooooo Hooooooooo ! It finally arrived ! Saturday July 23 2005 my 73 Bettle came rolling down the road from a 2 1/2 hour trip ... OK ... it was on a trailer.

Going to buy a battery today and try and fire that sucker up ... Oh Yeah and buy some primer to get it back to one color.

I got a bunch of boxes of parts too ... plus an extra trunk lid and 2 engine hoods.

Here's a pic of it.
