[Mattimus]

Okay, intro time.....

My name is Matthew, aka: "Mattimus". I am a 24 year old Graphic Designer living in Austin, Texas. I have been into VW's since I was 10, and have owned only 3 in the past 8 years. My first was a 67 T1 "The Flag", I drove that puppy for 7 years until my 1835 seized due to a blown oil line. I had a 69 parts car that I stripped and bartered parts for to finish my current project/driver, a 69 T1 custom. I have a good $15k+ into this car with all sorts of mods ranging from shaved handles to slammed stance and custom velour interior. It's nice, but not what I wanted. But it will do until I can sell it and get me a true vintage (anything -67). Currently I am honing my welding skills for my next project, being a 'rod in its most basic form. Not exactly to standards of the "Runt Rod", but more traditional with minimal comforts. Just can't decide on either a hardtop or using a 'vert body. My brother and I will be partaking this next project together, and hopefully have it ready for cruising next summer.

Also, I am one of the original members of the Austin AirCoolers VW Gang, the mother chapter of what has grown into an 8 or 9 chapter gang, crossing from Portland to Gainsville.
