Hi, my name is Tom Matulis, I live in Connecticut and am one of the guys involved in putting on the Litchfield Bug-In show and the Terryville Bug-A-Fair show.My wife ,Diane, and I usually set up and try to organize the swap areas of the show. Diane also works at the information booth along with any number of our kids.I have been involved with VWs for 30+ years( yes,I am actually older than Dan, but don't remember the Dead Sea being alive or even sick) having worked at a garage that specialized in VW repair back in the early 70s, while driving muscle cars.I bought a VW to drive when in college and actually enjoyed it, especially during the gas crunch. In the mid 70s I cruised around in a period hopped up '56 oval and a hot roddded '51 split( put it on a '69 pan back in '71, which I still own. The split is slowly being put back into '70s configuration, but this time instead of metallic brown or multi color primer it's satin black. I either still have or have collected many of the parts that were on the car back then. For years it was my daily driver and has been all over the east coast and eastern Canada.,200,000+ miles. My wife has a fairly tricked out '73 cal-look squareback that she occasionally shows, but would rather drive. Other toys are a '47 Ford business coupe, sort of ratrod style,a '60 Willys pickup, stock for now,a '48 Willys panel truck, street rod project, a '66 VW single cab (rod?),another '51 standard split and a '55 ragtop waiting in the wings. I need another lifetime to do all these! Buying and selling parts at swap meets is also a big part of my hobby. That's where to find me on weekends, at Vw shows or the big multicar swaps. Anyway, if I can be of any help, don't be afraid to ask. Tom
