High School Dune Buggy

well my buddy (High School Students) and i are building a dune buggy. we got it last summer off the eastern shore of MD, and i go down to work on the chassis at my uncles house every other weekend

I just found out this weekend that it is a 1964 chassis, not a 1966 as we were origionally [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif[/img] told.

The body is a manx look-a-like, i think.

Umm, My buddy is in the process of painting it flat black (rat rod-ish)

i got a motor from this dude "bever", i think its a 1641 with a mild cam, i have the super offroad exhaust from empi, but i only have a stock 34pict carb, hopefully im pushing like 80 hp

the breaks and wheel bearings are the next big challenge, as i bought all the wrong parts due to the year confusion

after breaks we will tackel the electrical system [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused.gif[/img]

then mabye it will be road worthy [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smokin.gif[/img]

after a long weekend I ended my spring break on a high note! Our dune buggy now has smooth bearings, brakes, and chevy rally wheels :D

i did run into some problems though....
first the play in the clutch is horrible. the first three inches of movement just make funny noises inside the tube.. might need some help with that one [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif[/img]

second i dont have all the peices for the emergency brake, specifically i need some kinda clamp for the backing plate i guess..

well now i get to concentrate on homework and getting back to school....
