Hello, I am Casey, and this is my bug/project/driver. I purchased this poor little 68 with no motor or interior at all, with the intent of driving it to work while I work on my 62 Chrysler... We all know how that goes. I havent touched the mopar and the VW is still going through growing pains...

-= Me, Myself and I=-
I live here in sunny AZ. I am an Aprentice plumber/fitter. Mostly we do commercial plumbing Water/Gas line, Roof drains (the 12" diameter cast iron is the most fun), waste, and on occasion oxygen and other gas lines (mostly hospitals and chip plants, Intel moterola etc).

Mostly I tinker on on of my many projects, 68 Beetle, 1962 Chrysler Newport, and a 1963 Corvair Spyder Convertable.

-= The car as it sits=-
Right now its a AS41 case bored for 90.5's, stock dual port heads, 40 Dells, Engle 110, and swivel feet adjusters. Ignition is a 009 dis, Petronix firing an MSD 6A. Comp is set at 9.5:1 and I run .050" plug gaps.

Since this picture was taken, I cut the heater outlets off the fan shroud and welded the holes over. Took a grinder to the chrome wheel and painted it with "barbeque black" napa paint. The front seats are 95 civic welded to 68 bug seat bottoms. The front end has avis adjusters, urethane bushings, some kind of aftermarket disc brake spindle (It has early tierods at the spindle) and the 2pin gierling calipers. The brake master cyl is a new unit from a 1970 bug. The brakes are 'touchy' to say the least. The tranny is a stock 68 swing axle, sitting on uerthane mounts.

-= The Plan=-
The basic Idea is something like a 3 inch chop, 2.5" dropped spindles up front, narrow the beam, and stock height in the rear. I was thinking of going with 235/60/14's in the rear and 205/60/14's up front.

As far as motor, reverse rotation corvair, probly a 65 and later 140 motor with a bigger bumpstick. As far as Carbs... I dont know yet.
