Hello bugnut here I make my home in La Luz New Mexico. I am a retired Aircraft Mechanic-Inspector. I also retired from the US Army as a helicopter Pilot 24 years ago.
I have been a bugnut for around 25 years, having built bugs for my kids while they were in school. I built a 67 Cal Look for my daughter and a 68 Baja for my son. The 67 cal look came home to me after a head on. My daughter was okay. Thanks to the seat belts. I had to cut and weld a new front end from the doors forward. I have driven It 212,000 miles after that. It is now ungoing its 3rd complete rebuild. Should be nice. Two-tone, gray tweed, 2165cc. and lowww.
Another of my projects is a off the pan resto of a 73 Thing. Pan and suspension is finished and waiting for the body. It will be mostly stock except for the engine, brakes and upholstery.
Other bug is a 67 that I plan to build into a Fred Hildago, type "stink bug" also some of the mods used on the Runt Rod. 4 in. chop and 4 in. section. I have a 3.5 Dodge complete engine front end package that I plan to roll under the rear after I cut the rear of the pan off. I will also build a roll cage into the car that is tied into the engine package. Sure hope I live long enough to finish this.
