Hey all!
Let's see...I'm 25, live in Houston,TX and work in Quality Improvement for a mental health insurance company. I love to tinker with my VWs, cook, hang out with friends, read, listen to music and just be myself.
My first VW ever is my 2000 New Beetle that I love to death. She's my show car and my daily driver. Yes, she's custom (not radical, but custom...no sawzall near her.) That's what got the ball rolling. I was hypnotized and drawn in to the Houston VW Club by a few very cunning members that stalked me in my parking garage at work and they brainwashed me into joining the cult...I mean, club. I then began reading all I could about VW history, design and models. Not a bad thing, I guess. So, I dove straight in without testing the water first. Aquired my first air cooled (a 68 T1) from a friend who's wife wouldn't let him keep it any more. It became the miniBeetleroadster project. You know...cut off the roof, shorten it and make it a 2 seater. Yep, that's what the plan was. Then, I aquired a 72 Super. ...and by aquired, I do mean that they were given to me. People like to give me things...whether it be cars or hell.
As of last week, my 68 has now graduated up to a dirt track car project with a good friend of mine and now the 72 will I get to help and I'll be learning a lot from several knowledgeable people so maybe I'll actually be able to do the roadster myself.
