Re: De Konjel
This morning I finaly found some time to work on "De Konjel"..........
Made the bracket to hold the front of the diff. and did some pre-assembly to see how it looks and if it all will fit.
Think it will be OK.
Now I can concentrate on the front suspension.

Re: De Konjel
I just wanted to say I think this is a cool project!
I have a friend that was building an AWD (or was it a 4WD) out of a Subaru & a VW. He wasn't sure if he was going to use the Ghia or the bug he had... He ended up scrapping the whole project when he came back from over seas when he was in the service... Kinda sucked cuz it was coming out great! He had the whole drive-line set-up & was a rolling chasis. We took it for a ride in his backyard. Boy was that fun! He didn't have as much travel on his suspension as it looks like you do though.
I can't wait to see how yours turns out! Looking Killer & your Skills are Awesome I must say!

Re: De Konjel
Hey guys I just wanna thank you all for the interest in my project . Good to see that their are a lot more people thinking about 4x4 in beetles and the different ideas how to do that. Probably need your technical and design help a lot of times in the future .

Have you seen the technical drawings for the Komanderwagen? I know a couple of guys brought it up in the beginning of the thread and it might be helpful, but it looks like you already have a really good handle on what you're doing
I think the Komanderwagen was only 4x4 in 1st gear anyway

Re: De Konjel
Those are quite unique. I'm not quite visualizing the end product, but I'll keep watching! I always like it when this thread pops back to the first page!

Re: De Konjel
A little update.............
Finaly received the rod ends I was looking for the upper a-arm. These have a 20mm hole and M20x1.5 threads.
The sleeves I had for the bushings that go on the insite needed to go to the machine shop. The inner diameter is 1mm to small so I couldn'd get the bushings in correct.
Hope to have them back this week. It holds up eveything on the front.

Re: De Konjel
Very cool setup man! I am about to start on some long arms for the rear of some buggys here and found some bushings with DOM sleeves pretty cheap through summit, about $13.00 each for the sleeve with bushing and zerk fittings on them.
