hey all, my name is whit im married and have 2 little girls and a big yellow dog, and i live in north alabama about 600 miles from any body of salt water that has any surf, bummer. anyway, ive done some time on the west coast from tj to sanfran, went with my brother who was working in hunnington at the time, i was 16. he rented me a 71sb, i bought a used gordon and smith board, taped it to the top of the bug and spent 2 months surfing around cali. any way, im a fabricator/welder at a street rod shop here, so im pretty well up on the street rod [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cry.gif[/img] hot rod :D end of all this. i dont have a hot rod project of my own, ive worked on so many that the all seem the same. no disrespect, but i just dig being singled out. i do have a 70c10 panel, a 50 buick, 2 74 bmw 2002s, 3 old jet skis, and my newest, a 71 super beetle, just like the one i drove in cali. only a different color, and rougher. im not gonna "rat rod" it. im gonna give it the socal treatment. ive got lots of past custom jobs to draw from. hope to gain some bug smarts from you guys, and help with any thing i can.

been tryin to get the bug to stop for two weeks! 99% of that has been waiting on parts, wrong parts. i should have ordered all the stuff from jbugs or some one else, these local parts guys are so locked in on civics, mustangs and camaros that they have forgotten how to look up parts. or maybe its cause i got an early 71 flatscreen super. recon? signed... still waiting
