Hello everybody out there in the volks rodding world. My name is Shaun Benson, I am a 26 year old Licensed Body Technician. I bought my first VW when I was 14 years old and still own it to this day. It is a 72 Super Beetle. I posted it for sale on your sight when I found it because I have yet to find any other group of guys that are truly into custom cars. I was trying to sell it so I could get some money to start an old skool VW rod pickup but all I got was people trying to scam, so everybody beware of scams on the net. Anyways I decided to forget that for now and just change what I got, so I've been alittle busy in they garage for the past 2 weeks. I know some of you didn't care for the way it looked before but to each his own. I got rid of the billet crap and turned it into an old skool hot rod, since I can't afford to start a new project at the moment. I had all intentions on shooting it flat black and leaving it but as soon as I started laying out the flames and untaped them it just didn't scream hot rod so I had to squirt some clear on it and now she screams. Mexican blanket seats,18 inche extended shifter with skull knob red lighted eyes, chrome reverse wheels with baby moons, wide white were way out of my budget so I had to settle for white walls. I just have to do some pinstriping and paint the engine compartment and it is cruising time. I'll be driving this thing everyday I possibly can. The pickup is on the back burner for now but I plan on getting very creative with that thing. Anyways all you guys out there take care and have fun wrenching on your rides and drive the wheels off of them. I hope that maybe there are some guys close to me that are into these things I am close to the Michigan border, drop a line if anyone is out there. I 'll try and get some project pics up soon.
