Met one of the members at GoodGuys Nationals in Waukesha, Wi over the weekend and he said this is where I belong. I've been into vw's since 15, 28 plus years now. The completed roadster took 10 years on and off. 2 donor vw's and a kit from England. All work performed by myself except the paint job. I originally purchased the stock 69 bug in Fla.in 1982, did some cal stripes and fat tire style, drove it for awhile. Started the rebuild in 1990 with a 4" chop and than ran across the Wizard Roadster kit in 1994. Everything changed from that point on.
In a nutshell, the front end was narrowed 2", frontend raked 3-1/2", dropped 5-1/2" via my own design air bags. Windshield raked back 1-1/2", The top was cut down 4", and the rear end widened 6". All thats left of the original car is the 2 rear quarter panels and the center tunnel.
Headlight rings have been molded in, front one piece highly reshaped, shaved door handles, molded in 3" wider rear fenders with Vega taillights frenched in. Recessed license tag, and 1-1/2" widened molded in louvered running boards.
Motor is a Mofoco built 1776 with an original Judson Supercharger topped off by Weber 2bbl carb and manifold. 1-5/8 exhaust with a 2-1/2" full flow muffler. Disc brakes all around. Running 135's up front and 235's on the rear.
