I'm bored as heck at work today so thought what the heck, I'll repost some "concept" pics of my car...

And yes, by concept, I mean photoshopped. The result of yet another bored day at work. I was just screwing sround, but dang, I really like the look...

For now though I'm just fighting to get it back on the road in it's stock form. It's getting there...

Hmm.. that really wasn't much of an intro, was it?

Ok, I'm still bored at work so what the heck, here goes.

My name's Craig. I've been into cars since forever. We always had VWs around as I was growing up, and in my younger years I got dragged all over the country in a VW Bus. In high school I spent most of my money on cars, but then during college I started hanging out with a couple motorcycle racers and was seduced by a certain Italian motorcycle. I HAD to have one... which eventually led to this:

Did I mention I stayed single until I was well into my 30's?

Anywhos, that bike (which I still own) was just the beginning. I was soon head over heels into the motorcycle scene. I'll spare you all the gory details, but it finally led to this;

The mutt's name is "Desmo", which makes this a picture of my two favorite desmo's. That won't mean a thing to someone who's not into sportbikes. Don't worry about it...

Anywhos... after having screwed with bike stuff for about ten years, and getting further and further over my head with regards to the bike's limits vs my skills, I kinda lost a lot of my enthusiasm and now hardly ride at all.

That leaves a lot more time for cars, which brings me back to the Ghia. I inherited it from my dad, who bought it as a project car back around 1980. Right now it's basically stock, with a lot of "incorrect" details if you're one of them purist types.

I had big plans on what I wanted to do to it, including a Porsche 356 engine and brakes, but that's since been cut back a little. I did install 356 A front brakes, and I also bought an engine to rebuild for it, but that is on hold. I'm leaning more towards a more typical 1600 VW engine for it now. Easier on the pocket book, and the car needs so much other work, my pocketbook needs all the help it can get!

So the plan now stands at getting all the "little" things done to get the car back on the road with it's romping stomping 36hp engine. I'm close, real close... You can go to my website for more details if you're still at all interested... B)

Which brings me to this forum, as I poke around the web getting ideas for what I might want to do next...

P.S. By the way Spike, I didn't copy your name... I was here first! :P
