Looks like it’s doing about 70 just sitting there. How’s the engine coming?

New tires, tubes and spoke covers showed up. I can put the OG spoke wheels back on the car!

These old wheels were covered is rust spots on the spoke sides and covered in flaking rust on the tire side. Rustoleum Rust Desolver and 30 minutes wait did pretty good! But... why bother? A new pair in steel chrome is $900.00!!! A new pair of aluminum is $1000.00!

Spokes don't always trip the timers on the drag strip. The inserts make sure they work.

Hadn't even made it to the track and he's already flipped it! Dayum... <LOL>
This is one of my top ten favorite things I've seen on this forum... Loving the drag Buggy and learning while I watch... keep 'em coming.

4 hours of trans set up today. Stopped after setting preload and getting initial r/p lash to work from. Much learning today as well as some progress.

Photos loaded in reverse order.

Nice!!!
Originally I was going to try and run without the trans extension, but my axle is too narrow to allow the engine to fit between the tires, so... extension. This kicks the wheelbase from 124 to 139 inches.

Piddly, but necessary things today. The Magnesium casing for the transmission extension and the hubs and disc brake hubs all needed paint. So what color do you use with orange? Black. Now I just have to wait for paint to dry.

First time I’ve ever seen a tranny extension. But it makes sense and looks great. Definitely adds to the rides ‘impression ratio!

V8T complimented me in another thread. This thread brings the reality: I screw up a bunch!

I am on my 3rd set of transmission mount designs. Oigh...

I guess you have sand/dirt drags near you? There’s nothing like that around here. I would have to get it legal for 1/4 mile. Cool project. I always wanted a vw trans dragster.
