Hi, my names Philip, I live in Richmond BC Canada (just south of Vancouver), I found this place while looking for more pictures of a car I saw in a hotrod mag 3 or so years ago. It was a small picture of a fenderless bug with a dropped I beam and wire wheels. I believe after some searching that the car was Stinkbug. I've owned 5 VW in my time; 68 panel, 66 panel, 67 bug, 75 bug and now I have an 89 Transporter multi van "double door" with a westy pop top. It's my daily transport and weekend parts and material hauler. I've always wanted to get into ratrods - hotrodding but have never made the leap as I felt that starting from scratch with some 30's truck cab and scrounging parts forever and the money involved with a scratch build yeash! So now I'm on the look for a good starter bug. I have my eye on '63 parked in the lane a few roads over from me or a late 60' early '70 at a towing place near me. I was figuring on a beam extention some stock steel rims with tall skinny non white wall tires and 2" chop with lines like the '66 pye on the socallook site, a sparse interior and a suede paint job.
