The wide 5 drums I have a flat faced, so even the 5.5 and 5.75 should fit well inside of the 5x 205mm bolt circle. The 4.75 is cake.

According to the companies supplying these blank drums as well as drilling the custom patterns... this isn't so with the 5.5" pattern. It was either the fronts or rears (I forget now) that due to the drum design, they wouldn't touch 'em with that pattern due to comprising the strength/integrity of the drum.
I've repeated this info in pretty much every thread I've seen about these, so I'm not going to go into detail again. But yeah... over several years of researching this... the novel idea of simply re-drilling the drums has come to mind.
After hearing the same thing from a couple different places not willing to drill either the front or rear drums (again... I forget)... that was enough convincing for me. Figured it wasn't worth possibly killing myself or someone else on the road to save a few hundred bucks.
Also... the wide 5 drums are not all flat faced. My adapters had to be "stepped" in the back to clear the huge cone shaped face of my drum.

Re: Wheel adapters
I just got off the phone with Fred Goeske and we talked a bit about these adapters. Like has been said... he can do them now, but they ain't gonna be cheap (they weren't cheap from Skulte either... materials & labor for these cost some cash)
I'm going to take one of mine off the Panty Buncher and send it on down to him. He's going to make an exact design from it and send it back to me same day.

We did have a vendor for these... you missed the part up above where apparently Skulte stopped doing wheel adapters all together (no warning or mention of it to me at all from him... just a notice posted on his website now...)

Re: Wheel adapters

Re: Wheel adapters
I just got a set of 32 Essex wheels they are 6 bolt but the back is flat unlike the ford rims so I'm not sure if I'll have any problems yet

Re: Wheel adapters
Steve, you just proved how much you care about helping others in this volksrodding world.
You and others on this site have always been an encouragement with my project providing props and comments, selling, trading and even giving me parts that I have needed.
Thanks! One of these days I will be able to afford to join the coalition and fill the blank spot on my dash that is just screaming for a plaque and help support your efforts on this site.

Re: Wheel adapters
Damn! I guess I should have ordered my adaptors all at once. I ordered my fronts first to see how much wider I wanted for the rear now Skullite is done. I can't wait to see how this other guys turn out. Thanks for looking out for all of us Steve

Re: Wheel adapters
Hey I just went to Fred Goeske's site www.wheeladaptors.com and filled out a quick quote. he called me like 5 minutes later, Super cool kat, He told me that he had just made a pair for a guy and that he was coming to pick them up today. He said he could take my order and get them shipped out the next day.

Re: Wheel adapters
Any updates on this?
I just e-mailed Rally America -- we'll see what they say. They currently have adapters that are selling for $60 each but don't know if they make them for wide 5s.
