Default EMPI Disc Brake kit

Are these worth a shit? Are rotors and pads readily available anywhere for future servicing? Debating with myself on whether I want to rebuild the stock drum system or convert to the EMPI discs on my 65. Any feedback would be appreciated!

EMPI = Every Mistake Passes Inspection.

Whozawhat tried EMPI disc brakes, they sucked.
Ended up tossing or modifying all the EMPI shit he bought.

That's about what I figured. Any better alternatives?

The fronts were not a problem for me but the rear disc conversion from EMP was, in the end I used CB performance roto-hub brakes on the rear, they worked much better for me than the EMP crap, the first set of EMP that I had were made with a stamped steel mount and they arrived bent and they flex, also the discs lacked any reinforcing ribs like the CB Performance discs have and because of that they would "sing" at times and gave a sound like you would get running your finger around the rim of a crystal wine glass.
There are more expensive brakes available if you want to get spendy.

How much does the disk conversion push out the width on the front?

Usually about .25" per side. I know the rears definitely do that.
