Default New engine build

Building a 1600 to replace the awful 1835 that was in my car when I bought it. So far, bought an aluminum case at Fisher Buggies and had them full flow it. They have a stash of NOS Bugpack welded counterweighted cranks from 2004, so I grabbed one of those and bearings. Planning on forged pistons. VW or Scat rods. Not looking for crazy power, just the best that I can make a 1600 run. Weekend ride, but could be daily driver.

Emailed Roy at Fomoco. He suggested their 042s and a W110 cam with duals. I'm considering Kadrons or whatever Empi calls theirs.

Is that the best cam for this combo? I'm curious about dual pattern cams like Crower makes. For not a lot more than an off the shelf profile, they'll grind a custom one.
