I got my meter can in and the service/breaker panel in. I'll pick up the wire for it tomorrow that goes from the meter can to the service panel and then I can call the electric company. Before they get out here in 7-10 days I'll pput in my lights, switches and recepticles and run my interior wiring. Once all that is done I can call the county for the final inspection.

Donald if you weld on your W lid you'll never be able to get into the engine compartment. I would keep the hinges.

Donald, you're welcome to do it here but it will be a couple weeks before I get my final inspection and can use the Lincoln 255. I do have a little Linde 130EN with gas hooked up if you want to use it.

today I did a motor swap for Pedros 64 kombi. out with the tired OG motor and in with a fresh 1641. running great.

did it in my driveway with the floor jack. its easy with the bumper and rear pan removed. almost installs itself.

this should be the last one that the neighbors have to watch............the garage will be up on thursday.

I finally got off my ass and finished wiring the shop. Well, enough to call for the inspection. I'll go back and add a ventilation fan, mnore lights and wire in my compressor after I have power to it. I'll call for the inspection tomorrow.

Hey as far as a ventilation fan goes are you looking for a real one like an industrial type or just a fn to move the hot air out ?

I took a normal $7 box fan and built a plywood box around it and cleated it up side down over the vent and it does a great job of moving the hot air out. You get a slight breeze with it on but not enough to make everything blow around. Obviously could be a better with a stronger fan but it works alot better that expected as the hot air from the sealing goes away as well as fumes quickly.

passed electrical & final inspections today. I put the covers on the panel and all the switch boxes, lights, etc. I also started back-filling the trench and low area around the shop but I had to stop 'cuz the hydraulics were low. Made a trip to Napa and I'll finish that tomorrow or Sunday.

I have to wait for the electric company to run the wire to the meter now. While I wait for that I'll figure out how to set the tension on the doors, clean the floor and put down the epoxy coating, build some sort of work bench, pour a concrete pad outside for my compressor (and a lean-to to cover it)and....whatever else I think of. Then, I get to start moving all my tools and junk in.

A couple steps closer.

4'x4' pad poured today for the compressor to sit on.

I also did a lot of tractor work at a buddy's house after being up at 4am (bed at 1am), work at 5, home at 2, and got the tractor back home at 8:15. Where's the ass-draggin' emoticon?

Whats with the brown dash thing anyway ?
$6000 for a roof section theres gotta be a joke in there somewhere.

Finally got my damn M18 tap in. 15 minutes after getting it out of the mail box I was done with it. Put it in the ool box where it will sit for ever. If anyone ever needs the frame hornthreads chased let me know I got the tap for it.

its a reference to daytona charlies pricing methodology. the price for anything is initially set at what he needs to get the next car .....compared to how bad you need the part.......then negotiated down to next to nothing.

the section is for over the drivers side door. which I just happen to have left over.

Tired of sanding get out a chisel and start scraping. Seriouly I have done it before. Had a car with like 15 layers of paint or something. First layer on top of the factory one wasn't really stuck so a little scraping and it all just peeled up.

Donald,
Gonna get with you sometime soon about measuring for a roll cage I think. I should be pulling the body really soon, thinking about it this weekend but my parents are in town. Once the body is pulled I will give the chassis to Charlie, if he still wants it and be ftting it to the other chassis. So it won't long now.

Charlie,
the chassis and title will be yours really soon if you still want it.

Donald, I'd give you the rag clip if I didn't have plans for it. But, I'll let you have it now if you replace it with another one. No biggie if it'll help you get your jalopy done. I have a complete semaphore rag clip but no semaphores. It's still a whole body right now, haven't cut it yet.

Jon, yeah man, I still want that chassis. I still have those buggy lights and baja bumper if you still want them. Get with me whenever.

Donald, you are losing it.

you asked me if I had the section at the kruezer show, answer is still yes, its still yours and its still free.

i just need to cut away the useless metal surrounding it. and salvage the oval windshield top. one of us will need that for sure.
