Sorry, my priorities right now do not involve the VWs. I'll get to them soon, I hope. I'm working seven days a week right now.

instead of working on the electrical all weekend, I bought plants to landscape, ended up pulling everything out of the ground in front of my house (16 shrubs and seagrapes). planted big palms and such (34 holes dug). and then replanted the 5 seagrapes in the back yard.

got that out of the way, now back to the regularly scheduled cars.

Who's going and also is anyone going to Todd's (67 South) Party ?
Guess I should call him and double check to see if he's still doing it.

I doubt I will make it to either...may be able to swing over to the show Sunday morning. I have to be somewhere here by my house at 1 so I don't know if I will bother riding out to the beach.

Jon, if I do go to the show I can bring that buggy bumper and lights for you if you still want them.

Jon, I believe there is a new "buses only" happening started this year.

Anyway, here's a few pics of my junk.

altered wheelbase? no, just taking the body off.

It had to go 25" under the boards which was a little scary balanced on bent jackstands on top of pieces of wood, of course the cinder blocks weren't exactly steady either.

the new (been sitting in lean-to) pan half sitting in place.
I hope to get both new pan halves in this weekend.

Alright other SE people, what have you been doing? Donald, show some pics of the brown bomber!!

Mines going into storage next to 67 South for some time. I gotta use the space it is occupying to complete a job. I would be able to by a nice one with the money I am making off this Job but I am gonna be funding a shop. Gonna go independant eventually. I need to start taking steps in that direction.

The shop is yours to use any time. The welder is hooked up finally but I still have to get to the compressor.

Was driving between a squareback and a pole and Eric jumped on my drivers side.So I guess I moved over too far and killed my car on the concrete light pole .I'm not smart enough to just stop the car .

Donald, I think it looks fine. The "Killer Oval" theme had to be getting a little old by now anyway.

BTW, I don't know if I told you but the county put clay all the way down my road so even your low ass shouldn't get stuck now. Well, the put it down to the corner just not in front of my house. With no rain lately, it's almost like concrete.

Sweet. They're about $1800 new and I can get one through work for $1450. I paid $1300 for mine used a few years ago. It's a very nice machine.

Just thought I'd bring this thread back from the dead.

While I'm at it, this is an open invitation to any of the locals (or not-so-locals) to drop by. Bring your ride to work on or just come and hang out and work on mine. I never work Saturday or Sunday anymore.

wish we lived a bit closer, man.

I can make the same offer about here, with the big shop and all. but there is a 56 that needs to be put back together that is in the way.

If I was closer I'd come help. I have my 67 all apart right now but it should be back on the road by next week. It's just a $100 resto.
